Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industries Karish FPSO project is about to be completed

On November 26th, Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industries held a ceremony to reward 4 million safe working hours for the Karish FPSO project, marking that the construction of the project is progressing smoothly and has entered the final stage.

Stathis Topouzoglou, CEO of Prime, Adam Palasz, Vice President of TechnipFMC, Photis, Project Manager of Energean, Bart Hameleers, HSE General Manager of TechnipFMC, Gilles Camaret, Resident Project Manager of TechnipFMC, Lai chin yew, Resident Project Manager of SCM, Vassilis, Resident Project Manager of Prime, Fred, HSE Manager of TechnipFMC, Jiang Jijiang, General Manager of Shanghai COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry, Zhou Jianhua, General Manager of Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry, as well as relevant personnel from Energean, TechnipFMC, SCM, Prime, and members of the construction teams of Shanghai COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry and Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry projects. Guests attended the ceremony. Huang Xu, Executive Vice General Manager of Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry, presided over the ceremony.

Zhou Jianhua, General Manager of Zhoushan COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry, expressed his gratitude to all the shipowner representatives, classification society surveyors, construction teams, and subcontractors involved in the project construction. He also stated that Zhoushan COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry will continue to tighten the string of safety production, prioritize HSE work, and make unremitting efforts to achieve project safety accidents and on-time delivery.

The Karish FPSO hull project is the first floating production and storage platform jointly built by Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industries and Shanghai COSCO Shipping Heavy Industries for the Greek company Energean. The project has a total length of 227 meters, a width of 50 meters, a depth of 27 meters, an annual production capacity of 8 billion cubic meters of natural oil and gas, a maximum storage capacity of 1 million barrels, high construction standards, high technical difficulties, and a short construction period. It is the first offshore project of Zhoushan Zhongyuan Shipping Heavy Industry to adopt non-ferrous metal pipe butt welding technology. The challenge is quite difficult.

The Karish FPSO hull project is the fourth FPSO project constructed by Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industries, and is scheduled to be delivered within the year. In the future, it will serve the Mediterranean oil and gas fields in Israel.

This year, Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industries has achieved frequent good news in the shipbuilding industry, having delivered 11 new ships, including 4 French Dafei 3300TEU series container ships, 2 Danish Maersk 3600TEU container ships, 1 113000 deadweight ton crude oil tanker, 2 64000 deadweight ton bulk carriers, 1 81600 deadweight ton bulk carrier, and 1 PSV platform ship.
